Bum shoulder.

Ok so I've had this slight shoulder issue since around August 2012. Not sure what caused it but the pain is usually off and on, sometimes a sharp stabbing pain, other times a dull achy pain. Anyway, it seems like it may have gotten a little worse. I tried throwing a football about a month ago and that absolutely killed my shoulder! The pain was intense and I didn't even finish the throwing motion. Needless to say, I was done after that one attempt to throw. I can still do most activities with little to no pain. Started physical therapy last week in hopes that the shoulder will get better. If not, I'm nervous I'll have to get surgery to correct the problem. That's not something I want to do! Here's hoping physical therapy works...

A whole new world.

Has it really been since May that I last wrote anything up here? I guess that's what happens when life gets the best of you. After all the training and preparations, we now find ourselves in Germany! I never thought we'd actually get here, but we're here. It's been about 3 months now and the house is still not totally set up. Once we get things totally organized it'll probably be time to move again. =) Anyway, so Germany is okay. Can't say I'm crazy about it, or that I even care to be here for that matter. My favorite thing so far has to be the weather. Loving the cold and the many cloudy/overcast days we've had. Not too much rain yet but I'm told that'll change in the summertime. My biggest complaint... the language barrier! I hate that I have to learn a new language just to be able to communicate with the locals. It's crazy that even going to an Asian restaurant in the mall that they're communicating in German! So frustrating and I hate it! Unfortunately I've put off trying to learn the language because I have other priorities that I need to take care of. Maybe that's just my excuse, but for now it's a legitimate excuse. I do hope I end up enjoying our time here. It was such a hassle just trying to get here and get set up... it better be worth it! Only time will tell...

Failed Nutrition

It was another horrible weekend for me in regards to my eating habits. I continue to fail in my quest to get my nutrition in check. I was doing good for a while but I know I should do better. The weekends seem to be the most struggling times since I'm not as occupied as I am during the work week. I need more discipline for myself! Ugh...

30-day Pump update.

I am 30 days into my Les Mills Pump journey and I am seeing results! The results aren't dramatic but with my before picture next to my 30-day picture I can tell a difference. I still need to get my nutrition under total control but it has definitely gotten better. 30 days down and 60 more to go! The journey continues...

Researching for our next vehicle.

We've been researching several vehicles for what we're hoping to be an upcoming purchase by the end of the year. It's going to be a family vehicle, but we're just not sure which one just yet. Right now we're looking looking at the Chevy Tahoe and Traverse, the GMC Acadia, and the Toyota Camry Hybrid. If gas wasn't such a big deal we wouldn't even be considering the Camry but nowadays it's a huge thing to consider when purchasing a vehicle. We definitely want something big enough for traveling with the entire family and all that we'll need to bring. Still got some time to think and research. Hopefully whatever vehicle we decide on, there will be some kind of sale/deal on it. Totally ready for a new family vehicle!

Battling the sweet tooth.

These past two days I've had to fight the presence of cupcakes, chocolate cake, and donuts. Surprisingly, I've resisted all of these with ease! Maybe it's because I'm caught up in my workout, or maybe it's because I'm just not craving them for some odd reason. Normally I'd be all over these, especially the donuts! But I didn't even give them a second thought when I was around them. I'm proud of myself for resisting the temptation. I just hope I'll be able to stay strong for the long haul. This has to be a life-long commitment! Sorry sweets, but only in moderation.

Week 1 is done.

My first week of Les Mills Pump is complete! It wasn't as bad as I was thinking it might be, but then again maybe I need to use more weight. I started light because I haven't worked out with weights in quite a while. So far I am liking it and I'm looking forward to the final results! Fortunately, my eating habits have been decently controlled. If I can keep that up and/or do even better with my eating habits, I think I'm going to see some amazing results! Time will tell. I just need to stay dedicated to the program.
